...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

I have so many millions of things still to do :( Album is starting to come together at last. 3 songs just need vocals putting on. One I'm leaving as a vox & guitar track, so that's four. Need to re-work some lyrics later and that's five. Three to go and two of those are the final parts of the last piece - the last one needs to be just guitar and vocals anyway. Still need to design the cover...

1 week until Tinyfish and funtimes with nice man.

Essay? Don't make me laugh.

Life.

Mine seems to be increasingly filled with very manly blokes who want me to take them dress shopping

I'd be lying if I said this was anything other than awesome.

WOO!

Despite taking nearly a month off due to my brain not working, I have handed in all my work for the term. A WHOLE DAY EARLY.
I am the actual champion.

Fear me, mortals!

-Decided on my next tattoo. Asked around for recommendations for an artist that specialises in dotwork, all the suggestions so far are "they did my tattoo so they must be good" - I've had a look at the artists suggested and I'm not too keen on any of them. I just don't want to explain to people that "he's a nice bloke!" or "but he tattooed me!" or "he's dead cheap!" are not what I'm looking for. Dotwork has to be done well or it looks weird - I want to find the best person for the job.

-I'm still pretty "unwell". This pisses me off. Medication has been whacked right up and it's just making me dozy - so waiting to get an appointment with a specialist. Claire The Useful has had a word with the department so I've effectively got no deadlines to work to. I should have two deadlines at the end of this month, but as long as I'm turning up to things and making some progress I can have until the end of Easter break to get three essays done (two of which are started already). Which sounds doable until I try to work and my brain explodes.

-Feeling awful, but been talked into going to Arena tomorrow. Will see how I feel after meeting with Fothers.

-1 week untik T'Joke and Menel. Hoping I'm feeling better by then so I can get a full giddygeddon going...

Having a very dull weekend.

Friday I went wild and went to the library to finish my Athena presentation work for Tuesday. Deeply uninteresting in any way.

Yesterday I went back to the library to get some more books, came back, had a word with Maryam (the useful hall tutor) about Her Next Door - which all seems to be sorted now. Then off to Asda for fizzies and an evening in EIMA chat - highlight of which was a drunken Munchie inventing "Fuck Roofs" and "Twat banjos".

Today I woke up lateish and so far have done fuck all. Been through four books and only got half a page of info out of them. Useless!

Tomorrow is more workageddon. Yikes. Feel like I'm getting nowhere fast on anything at the moment. Not good.

It's safe to say that it's been a messy day-and-a-bit. The proof of this may be that it's 6.30am and this is the first time in the past 24 hours that I've been able to put words into any sort of sensible order. This is probably bad.

Here are some good things:
-IQ dates being announced. None in the uk before DECEMBER (Fecksake) but it's something.
-70% on Xenophon work. Heck yes. Considering I didn't understand it at ALL.
-I have bought £80 worth of Very Important Books
-Tickets sorted for Arena in Leicester. Next job: Sonic Rock.
-EIMA starts again properly tonight. Multiyay!

I should really fix this thing... Later. Maybe.

-Exam went ok-ish! Not sure how I managed that. Wrote solidly for two hours and managed to include all the important stuff, so that's probably good.

-Being back in Notts is good for me. I feel better already.

-Today is back to the library for reviseageddon, then Student Services for more financial fun.

I should be packing for Kenfest. Ideally I'd be PACKED already, but fuck that. Not taking a whole lot.

Soulseek is being utterly evil to me - I seem to have found someone with a Niadem's Ghost bootleg and instantly went ZOMFGMUSTHAVE!!! Without thinking that I actually thought they were a bit of a rubbish band. But curiosity got the better of me and Peter Nicholls is just wonderful...

Spent most of last night staying up too late discussing the pros and cons of multiple Steve Hogarths with the American boy. Much lol.

Seem to have plans to meet a bloke at Kenfest. Not sure I'm in the mood. We'll see how it goes.

Went into town with mother and listened to her bitching that shops have moved/closed over the last 15 years. Half the moor was a total mess due to some idiots holding a dogfight in the street. Lovely.

2 weekends in a row now of heading to festivals on my own - it's an opportunity to make new friends I guess! Going to take reading material and try to get some serious relaxing done too.

So...

This thing's still here then?

Splendid!

-Put new strings on my 12 string guitar. I hate changing strings, but this came to me two strings short and I've only just gotten round to fixing this. I do love it to bits. Partly because it was free and partly for the jangly sound it makes. It's not a big-name guitar make, but I'm not the sort who gets into that kind of rubbish. I'm a pretty bad guitarist, so what's the point in me having an amazing guitar? I do enjoy playing, so I get affordable guitars I enjoy.

-"What did the Romans ever do for us?!" I've been asking. Oh, they were an arsey lot! There are worse things to be studying, but after the fun fun fun of Homer, it's not doing it for me. Homer's been my favorite part of the course. Got some Pliny the Younger coming up over the next few months, but I'm still no big fan of Roman hisory.

-Somebody has stolen half the front fence. I don't know why they would - it's been rotten for a long time. Just goes to show the sort of bright young things that live around here....

-Off up to Leeds tomorrow for more education. Then meeting the band on Sunday to plan the next move. Still looking for a drummer.

I'm up silly-early again. But I went to bed earlyish (11pm at the latest) and napped during the day. Not too surprising. I've been sleeping a LOT recently.

Noodle soup and wontons for breakfast. The wontons looked pretty bad, but I quite liked them. Might try the har kau tomorrow!

Need to look up train and bus times so I can go and see Pressgang later. Looking forward to it! I've not been out properly in a few weeks and I've not seen Pressgang live in ages.

Had some nice-sounding news about something I'm not-talking-about earlier. Made me happy!

Did a little eBay shopping earlier in the week. Bought a very nice guitar lead and new strings for my acoustic 12 string (because it's been a 10-string for as long as I've had it...) as well as a new MP3 player. The one I have is ok, but the on/off button is dodgy. So to turn it on I have to unlock it (with my fingernail, because the button to that broke too...) and put the battery in. To turn it off, I take the battery out. The one I bought is pretty similar to the one I've already got, but (hopefully) newer and not broken. And it was nice and cheap!

The snow is finally starting to go. It's slow progress, but it's clearing. It's getting slightly warmer too. Glad about that - as pretty as snow is, I hate being stuck here. I hate being stuck anywhere really.

This was an odd gig.
This was the Big Session when it rained. It rained and it didn't stop raining. The first band on (3 Daft Monkeys if I remember right...) had to play in the beer tent because it was the only not-flooded place to put them.
This was the weekend that "bogtrolloping" was invented. The rules have evolved over time, but it pretty much involves trampleing across a muddy festival field without falling over. And bonus points if you accidentally land face-down in a pizza getting out of your tent...
Oysterband finished off the festival with a collaboration with some of the other bands that were playing. For most of the gig they kept telling us "Rory McLeod is going to be here later... playing the trombone!" and we all giggled - thinking they were joking. Then Rory did indeed turn up - with trombone. I'm not quite sure why...

There's a book I'm going to need very soon for my course, I bought it online a few weeks ago and it's still not here. I've been working around the bits I need it for, but I'm slowing up now because I'm going to end up in a mess if I don't go back and go over them soon. Annoying.

Got an email saying Pressgang are going to be on Celebrity Big Brother this Friday. What? Pressgang are the most un-Big-Brothery band in the history of ever! It makes me smile that me and Dave said "except Blyth Power!" at the same time when we talked about this earlier!

Watched a rahter good documentary about Hawkwind on YouTube earlier. But it was slightly fuzzy (totally watchable though) and I didn't have my glasses on. I thought it had Lemmy captioned as "Bassist - 1927-1925" I know they're old, but daaaamn.

MFC is failtastic at the moment. The Holocaust denial thread (I know...) is pissing me off no end. The bloke who started it's arguement is pretty much "Huur duur, I watched a video and it totally said it's all made up guys!" I really hope he discovers the joys of Icke and dissapears up his own turqoise shell-suited bum. Soon. Also is the arguements about goth - which are always going to be hilarious! Some of these have included "real goths never wear leather!", "Fields of the Nephilim can't be a goth band because I don't like them!", "FotN look rediculous which is why I don't listen to them! I only listen to good-looking bands like the Cure!", "Cyber goths are rappers in leather jackets!" and "you're all totally biased against goths because you WON'T TALK ABOUT COWBOYS!!!".
Yeah. There's some oatloops about on there...

Had a weird dream that I was looking down on the coast of Russia and watching whales. Also I was eating poached eggs and toast while sitting inside a broken bed-frame in a club/warzone. I was trying to hide the eggs because I didn't want them.

I've been meaning to cook pizza all day, but I don't seem to have gotten around to wanting to eat yet. Maybe later.

1) The old bloke on the bus decides to swap his flat cap for something more Nesmithian. (Classic Nesmithian rather than modern - of course!)
2) You end up opening the library door with your shoulder because (despite gloves) you can't feel your hands.
3) Nobody even dares mention your crazy russian hat because they KNOW it's keeping my ears warm.
4) You have to wear that two-sizes-too-big dress because it's the only thing that'll confortably go over all the other layers.
5) You're in Sheffield and there's a bloke in t-shirt and shorts (!!!) stood at the paper stand. That's Sheff for you....

I have har kau, noodles and turkish delight. That should mean I don't have to go out again for a few days - yippee!

Brrr..

If I don't go to the library today, I will probably go mad. I also need pasta. And cake because I'm nearly a week ahead on my work and I'm so gosh-darn happy about that!

More snow here. The roads are clearing a little and a few cars seem to be about, but it's nowhere near back to "normal".
Guess that means I've got another day of playing the Sims to look forward to - yippee!
